Make It Fun!

Ask most people to name the opposite of “fun” and the number one reply would likely be “work.”

Work should not be the antithesis of fun. Dasher believes in layering fun into every minute of the workday. You can usually always hear laughter in our workrooms, and a sense of humor is a cherished job skill.

Productivity and job satisfaction jump when work transcends drudgery.

New employee Andy Hart has already seen the fun. He has taken part in “Jersey Day” and “Ugly Sweater Day.” Dasher also encourages team members to share their pictures, like their snow day snapshots or their family photos. It makes team members full-dimensional and adds a dash of fun to the workday.

Andy was not working at Dasher for Halloween, but he heard team members dressed up as their favorite fairy tale character, with one supervisor dressed as Alice in Wonderland.

Having fun in the workplace is not a fantasy.

A sense of humor is a vital leadership skill.

Dasher leaders do not take themselves too seriously. They can talk gently to each other to find common ground.

We laugh a lot. Staff meetings are primarily virtual these days, but there is always an active chat going on. People post GIFs and love on everyone.

It does not distract from the meeting. It adds to it.
